DESCRIPTION

In the framework of the German Presidency in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, a conference under the motto “Strong Regional Cooperation and Strong Youth Participation for a Stronger Europe” will address the pivotal roles which regional cooperation and youth participation play for building a stronger Europe. In the course of the conference the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC) will be presented and elaborated on as a good example of interregional cooperation and the work of the Council of Europe regarding youth participation on local and regional levels will be discussed. In doing so the conference aims at identifying best practices and aspects which can and should be developed further, pursuing the objective of interconnecting the topics of regional cooperation and youth participation. The results of the event will be integrated into the work of the German Delegation to the Congress of the Council of Europe.

16:10 – 16:55Lab I: Regional Cooperation
This lab will focus on regional parliamentary cooperation. After a short introduction to the work of the BSPC by the Secretary General Bodo Bahr, the speakers will discuss the challenges and opportunities of regional parliamentary cooperation in a roundtable debate.

This lab will focus on youth participation in the digital age by presenting the results of the study session of the Congress of Europe: “W(e)-participate: Harnessing Digital Innovation for Youth Participation at the Local Level“.

Speaker: Gianluca Rossino, DYPALL Network Italy, Italian Youth Delegate to the Congress of the Council of Europe

The presentation will be followed by a discussion with Alina Wenger, German Youth Delegate to the Congress of the Council of Europe.
